Punta Uva Finance Test

Punta Uva Finance Test is a private test application operated by Punta Uva Realty. It is not a public service, and nobody can sign up for it.

What it does

We are building an internal accounting system for our own companies. It will keep a copy of each company's accounting documents in a Google Drive folder that the system creates and manages.

Before relying on Google Drive, we test it with this application, using one Google account created only for testing. The test checks that, once the account has granted access, the application can keep writing to and reading back its own test file in Google Drive for more than eight days.

Google Drive access

The application requests one Google permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. With it, the application can see and change only the files it creates itself. It cannot see, list or change any other file or folder in the account's Google Drive.

During the test, the application creates one small text file. Once a day it overwrites that file with the date, the day number of the test and a random number, reads the file back, and checks that the content matches.

How it runs

The application is a command-line tool that runs on one computer controlled by Punta Uva Realty. It has no website login, no user accounts and no server of its own. These pages exist only to describe the application.
